4 universities based in London - East London, South Bank, Greenwich and Imperial College took part in a Constructionarium week starting 21 June at the Pudding Mill Lane site of the 2012 London Olympics. Two tier one contractors - Sir Robert MacAlpine and Balfour Beatty, and engineers Arup and Buro Happold completed the triangles.
The 20 students from each university built a separate project - Brewery Wharf Bridge, Barcelona Tower, Pavillion or Kingsgate Footbridge. The original projects were designed by Arup, Sir Norman Foster, Atkins and Arup.
On the Wednesday afternoon, our President, Nick Raynsford MP, and the ODA's Construction Director, Howard Shiplee, visited the site. They were both impressed by the quality of work acieved by the students.
