What is Constructionarium?

This video was produced on 16th March 2016 as part of the opening of our expanded site at Bircham Newton. It features our President Nick Raynsford, Scheme Director Robin Holdsworth, Dan Bannister from Morrisroe along with Tim Lees from University of Reading and Alison Ahearn from Imperial College, London discussing the value of Constructionarium to students and to the construction industry.


Constructionarium (Australia) (2016)

An overview of our pilot Constructionarium (Australia) programme launched on 29 August 2016 at the USQ Springfield campus, with early-career engineers from BMD, Aurecon and TMR working together to construct a nine-metre tall replica of the Barcelona Tower.


Anglia Ruskin University and Morgan Sindall (2016)

An introduction to the Constructionarium programme, in which students construct scaled-down versions of buildings from all around the world. In this particular task, students from Anglia Ruskin University built a replica of The Gherkin skyscraper, in a module coordinated by Morgan Sindall.


University of Southampton (2015)

At the end of their first year, Civil Engineering students take part in The University of Southampton Constructionarium Challenge at the National Construction College, Norfolk. This year our students had 5 days to build 3 projects: – The Gherkin – The Millau Viaduct – The Brewery Wharf Footbridge.


University of Westminster (2015)

Property and Construction students successfully complete the oil rig at Constructionarium. Many thanks to our sponsor Byrne Brothers for providing the support and expertise to complete the project.


City College Norwich (2015)

Thirteen students from year 2 Construction and the Built Environment completed a challenging week to construct a replica of the Barcelona Tower at the Bircham Newton CITB training facility. This ambitious project tasked the students to plan, prepare and build the tower in under 4 days with support from Kier Construction, R&D construction and Constructionarium.
